Glory Days is a boar that we had an eye on since he hit the ground being the only male, and we kept all the gilts back. He is sired by some frozen semen out of Impeccable, and we all know what that boar did making champions barrows and gilts, but more importantly the females are true generators. Mother of this guy is a gilt that we raised and showed as a weanling at Duncan and was Champion Duroc in the sift. We sold her and then later in spring bought her back from the family. The grandmother of that gilt is the gilt that Cagney Utterback showed that was Grand Champion Overall at the 2016 Indiana State Fair bred by Tres Amigos. That Tres female raised the Reserve Grand Barrow at the 2016 In State Fair for us also shown by the Utterbacks.
Glory Days is one that is huge legged and angles are right up front and behind and can reach good enough off both ends. Great flesh and center body in more of a moderate package and offers a good look from the side. Great pastern set and matches with good foot size and the right amount of shape and muscle for a red one. We love this pedigree and know that it works to generate winners and sometimes it’s ok to reach back and remember the GLORY DAYS!!! |
