Picasso is a boar that is going to start off being known maybe by his brother Da Vinci, but he will make his own name. Sired by the first crop of Work of Art and what a run he is off to. Mother is the famous Danica sow, that is also the mother of Hibachi and one of those famous red generating females in the breed. Picasso is out of a flat killer litter with a bunch of awesome keeper gilts. Including a littermate dominating gilt, that was shown by Holly Howard and every time jackpotted was Grand or Reserve Grand Overall. She finished her career being named 3 rd Overall Purebred Gilt at the 2023 NJSS. Tremendous litter and a pedigree that we know works and wins in the showring.
Picasso is a great looking boar from the side and maybe offers a shot more look up front than some of his mates. The last 4 Duroc boar generations we have had out of this line always comes with a brother and we feel that this pair most closely resemble the same build more than any of the others. This boar is one that is level from the side with a great head and neck, comes at you with squareness, and leaves you with a great hip and hind leg. He is great in terms of shape and muscle, has proportionality, and very flexible off both ends with foot and bone. Making winning red hogs is sometimes a hard task, but paint that picture in your head with PICASSO!!!!! |
